Cue Metadata and PRO Guidance

Where metadata belongs

Public product pages should explain that cue and license information exists, but private writer, publisher, PRO, and master metadata does not need to be promoted as a storefront feature. Put detailed metadata where production teams need it: license PDFs, cue-sheet starters, invoices, receipts, and post-purchase files.

Recommended customer archive

  • Track title and product URL.
  • Order number, purchase email, and purchase date.
  • Project title, platform, release date, and usage type.
  • Scene or section name, start time, end time, and duration if the project needs cue reporting.
  • Writer, publisher, PRO, master owner, and contact details when provided in the delivery packet.

When cue sheets matter

Cue details are useful for film, series, broadcast, festivals, client production, paid media, games, apps, or any project that may need music reporting later. Small creator posts may only need receipt and license records unless a platform, client, or distributor asks for more.

DSIV support path

If a buyer needs formal cue details, a project-specific clearance note, or metadata that is not included in the delivery packet, they should start a project request with the order number and project context.
